If you are looking for something fun and different to do with the kids this weekend, look no further than the Wright Brothers National Memorial on July 18th and 19th. From 10am-4pm the grounds of the monument will be holding the 37th Annual Wright Kite Festival hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites. Kiddos can make kites, receive lessons for stunt and even power kites, at the very location where Orville and Wilbur took their 1st flight in 1903! Make sure you walk through the museum, which holds models, actual tools, and machines used by the Wright Brothers during their experiments including a reproduction of the wind tunnel used to test wing shapes and a portion of the engine used in the first flight. Family fun, kite making, lessons, and exciting history await you this Saturday and Sunday at the Wright Brothers National Monument. Don't miss it! Park admission just $4.
